Just upload a video showing you have what it takes to win Survivor and you could get an audition in LA!
Video submissions are being accepted until Feb 21, when the top 10 videos will be selected by the SURVIVOR™ casting team. After that, fans can view these videos and vote for their favorite submission from Feb 22 to Mar 5.
Los Angeles and Chicago, Jan. 20, 2010 - CBS and Sears today announced the launch of a first-of-its kind SURVIVOR™ “Casting Call” online contest*. One lucky fan will win a trip to Los Angeles to audition in front of the SURVIVOR™ casting team for a potential spot on an upcoming season of the popular CBS reality series. After nearly 10 years, SURVIVOR™ remains a top 20 show in viewers and top 15 show in the adult 18-49 category, continuing to dominate its time period in all key ratings measures.
Entries and Top Ten Selection
From Monday, Jan. 18 through Sunday, Feb. 21, fans can visit the Sears-sponsored hub at www.cbs.com/ sears and upload a 30 to 60-second video of themselves explaining why they think they could win SURVIVOR™. The top 10 entries will be selected by the SURVIVOR™ casting team.
Voting and Winner Selection
On Monday, Feb. 22, the top10 selected videos will be opened to the general public for a vote. Fans can vote for their favorite submissions up until Friday, March 5. The winner will be flown to Los Angeles to audition for a spot on the show.

Ferdinand Uses the Potty Book Review
Ferdinand Uses the Potty by Jay Tucker is a book about helping kids with potty training. It's a cute story about Ferdinand (or Ferdie) the frog not knowing what happened because he woke up in a wet bed. His friend explains to him that he just had an accident and that he needs to use the potty right after he eats and drinks. The boy tells him it's ok - it's natural and he will learn not to wet the bed. He is very nice and doesn't scold Ferdie - which I really liked. The rhyming is cute in the book (i.e. "Last night I woke up with great fret! I was dreaming of racing and sugary flies, when I turned over my bed was all wet!"), as are the illustrations.
Ferdinand is scared of the potty, and of the sounds that it makes, so he tries not to go at all the next day, until he can't hold it in any longer, gets a tummy ache, and finally goes on the potty. My daughter liked that part because he is jumping up and down - she was very excited for him.
We are in the midst of potty training right now. I have dreaded this stage; probably not as much as I dread the teen years, but close! My daughter has always used the toilet instead of a potty chair - we just put a seat on the regular toilet. She has never been scared of it or anything - it's just what she has always known. However, I was kind of apprehensive about her actually getting the idea of being scared of the flushing from reading the book. So, this book might be better for kids that have a fear of the sound of a toilet flushing. I am, however, happy that it has introduced the concept of bed wetting to her. She is doing really well with her potty training, but we haven't started training her for nighttime yet. I think this book is a good way to introduce her to the fact that soon, she will be out of diapers completely, and going to the potty all the time, even at night if she needs to. I also think that it's nice that it explains it is natural to wet the bed sometimes, that accidents will happen, and that there is nothing wrong with it.
All in all, it is a story worth reading to kids. I liked it, and more importantly, my daughter liked it. Ferdinand faced and conquered one of his fears - a very important lesson for kids! It is available for purchase at bookstores and at Amazon.com. Be sure to check it out!

26 percent say “I love you” once every day to their dogs—the same percentage that says “I love you” once every day to a spouse or significant other.

The survey interviewed 1,000 adults, age 18 and over, living in the United States during a one-week period in early December 2006. Ipsos U.S. Express, a leader in market and opinion research, conducted the phone interviews. Most results have a margin of error of +/- 5 percent at the 95 percent confidence level for comparable data between the populations of pet owners.

Save Money! Important news for Moms
My daughter exclusively drank breastmilk for the first 9-10 months of her life, but then we switched to formula. At first, I bought brand name formulas, but they were so expensive! Then I started reading about generic formulas, and started researching them to see what the difference was. What I found out? That 'store-brand infant formulas are nutritionally equivalent to, and confer the same developmental benefits as, the more expensive national brands like Enfamil.' So, I never went back to the expensive brands, that's for sure. I am frugal to a fault, so when I find that I could be paying less for anything, I shout it from the rooftops.
Now, like MomSelect stated in their email telling me about the case mentioned below, and I could not phrase it any better, (I am) in no way endorsing formula over breastfeeding; however, (I) have learned that many moms are unnecessarily paying more for formula when they choose to bottle feed because of unfair advertising. (I) thought this information was important enough to share with you.
In a landmark federal court case, a jury verdict confirmed that Mead Johnson, the maker of Enfamil LIPIL Infant Formula, has engaged in false advertising by stating that store brand-infant formulas sold at Walmart, Target, CVS, Walgreens and other retailers, do not provide the same nutritional benefits as Enfamil.
The jury found that Enfamil advertisements were false and misleading, especially since store- brand formulas have the same nutrients at the same levels as Enfamil. In the process, they have exposed the truth about infant formula: store-brand infant formulas are nutritionally equivalent to, and confer the same developmental benefits as, the more expensive national brands like Enfamil. Buying a heavily marketed formula from a big pharmaceutical company does not get you any closer to breast milk.
So what does this mean to Moms? It means they could have been saving up to $600 a year by using store brand formulas, which cost half as much as Enfamil LIPIL and other national brands.
